2023 Christmas Workshops - all the info you'll need!

We will once again be coming together as a community to make fantastic music to

gether and celebrate the successes of WMC students! Everyone will get a chance to join in, singing and playing along with us - plus there will be wonderful items by our tamariki.

Here all the info you'll need:

When: Saturday 9th December 2023

Workshop 1: 10am - 11am

Workshop 2: 11:30am - 12:30pm

Come along to one of these workshops - whichever is closest to your usual lessons times, or is most convenient for you and your whānau.

Where:

Miramar North School Hall

23 Weka Street, Miramar

What to bring:

WMC students: instruments and music

WMC caregivers/visitors: just yourselves!

Music:

Gaudete (traditional medieval carol)

Three Little Birds - Bob Marley

Feliz Navidad - José Feliciano

plus items from WMC students

Bring-a-plate

WMC will be providing a free sausage sizzle, including vegetarian/vegan options. If you'd like to support the event by bringing some food to share, we'd love that! Sweet or savoury foods are both welcome, just remember to:

  • label your container so it doesn't go missing

  • note down or let us know what ingredients are in your food (especially nuts, eggs, milk, gluten, meat, etc)

  • drop your food at the food table when you arrive

  • pick up your container when you leave

Bringing food is not required. Bake/cook up a storm if you like, but your presence is the only thing that really matters to us! There will be plenty to share. We will also be making sure everyone adheres to food safety procedures, including washing/sanitising hands.

Are there regular lessons on the day?

No, the workshops will replace the regular lessons on 9th December.

Can I bring the whole whānau?

Yes, everyone is welcome!

Should I come to both workshops or just one?

Just one. The two workshops will be the same, so you only need to attend one unless you've been asked to join both by your teacher (or you're having a great time and want to stick around!)

When will food be served?

Food will be available immediately after each workshop.

Can I still join in if I don't play an instrument?

Absolutely! We'll be teaching the words and melodies for everyone to sing along in the workshops.
