Term 3 update 2021 - classes and news
Kia ora koutou,
We hope you are all continuing to keep safe and well during the Covid lockdown.
It's good news that we have reached Alert Level 2 and for students to be able to return to school this week, albeit with social distancing requirements in place
Classes update - Saturday 11th Sept
The Wellington Music Centre team will continue to offer our classes online at the usual scheduled times with the tutors this Saturday 11th September.
The Wellington Music Centre team has been in communication with Miramar North School this week and they have confirmed due to the alert level 2+ restrictions and management of attendance numbers, social distancing and the hygiene requirements at this stage the risk is too high to safely run the classes at the school.
We will continue to be in contact with Miramar North School and re-evaluate the situation ongoing in regards to the alert level restrictions and the opportunity to return to in-person classes run at the school.
Running music lessons online
The Wellington Music Centre team of tutors and management have been refining the running of the music lessons online through the use of Zoom meetings and Google Classroom.
What works well
The tutor may place students in a waiting room until its the students turn to join in the class online or if in with a group session students are muted until its their turn to interact with the tutor.
The session time for learning on eon one is around 10 -15 mins or 30 - 40 mins if a group session.
What can be challenging
There can be issues with sound or video connectivity, this could be on both the students or tutors connection.
Turning your video off to improve connectivity (until your turn to play) helps
Using the original sound setting in Zoom
