About the class

Learn to play guitar at Wellington Music Centre! In this class your child will work in a small group alongside a skilled music tutor to learn how to play the guitar. Along the way they'll learn instrument technique, such as correct posture and hand positions, and learn all the aspects of musical language, including pitch, dynamics, articulation, tempo, and more. With these skills your child will learn to play solo, play as part of a group, and begin to express themselves through music! Wellington Music Centre classes are a full-year commitment. Please consider other activities like Winter sports when selecting a class time. Classes take place on Saturdays during school terms, and are taught in groups of up to 4. Time: Saturday 12:00 - 12:30pm Location: Room 12 Teacher: TBC Age range: 10+ years old This is an intermediate class for students who have some playing proficiency. We recommend 1-2 years of experience. Music Groups – alongside their usual instrument class, all level 2 and level 3 students are invited to join either the Raucoustra or the Miramar Kids Choir. These music groups will empower our older kids to start using their instrumental and singing skills to make music together. There is no extra charge to join these groups.
