What is the Peninsula Family Choir?
An open-doors singing group for families in South Wellington, Miramar, and beyond! Led by our fantastic song leader Sharon, this group is a place for our families to meet, socialise and have fun making music together! Big people and small people are invited to come along and sing as a family.
Whether you’re looking for a creative family activity, want to improve your confidence in singing, or just want to meet some more local families at WMC, this group is for you! Grandparents, uncles, aunties, and family friends are all invited!

What does the choir sing?
The Peninsula Family Choir will explore many kinds of music, including pop songs you know and love, Māori waiata, traditional choir music, and many exciting songs from around the world. No music experience is required and there’s no audition.
Who runs the choir?
The choir is run by the wonderful Sharon Yearsley. She's passionate about bringing choir music to communities, and brings a powerful kaupapa of inclusivity, joy and creating memorable quality experiences.

Do my kids have to take instrument lessons at WMC to join?
Nope! The Peninsula Family Choir is for everyone, whether or not your kids are enrolled in music lessons at Wellington Music Centre. If your kids enjoy the culture of WMC, you can enrol for instrumental lessons any time.
