For clarinets and saxophones hired, that reeds are provided for the student to use with the instrument

The Hirer must

-
attend one music lesson with their student to learn the correct instruction on the instrument maintenance procedures from the music tutor.
-
inform the music tutor and musical director if an instrument is in need of repair (e.g. replacement of a broken string, or fixing of a slipping violin peg)
-
If repair is needed at a music shop or other place of repair, provide transport to and from the place of repair. Advice about instrument repair providers is available from the Wellington Music Centre Music Director.
3. Hire fees and period for the hired instrument
The Hirer accepts:
-
Hire fees must be paid in full within 7 days of receipt of the instrument
-
Hire fees are used for maintaining the instrument and support the funds for replacement of the hired instrument where necessary (after normal wear and tear the instrument) and the Wellington Music Centres contents insurance policy fees
-
the hire length is for the full music lesson period each year (from start day of the music centre operating year until the last day of the operating year)
-
The instrument must be returned, in good condition, with its case where provided, on or before the last day of the operating year, unless otherwise arranged with the Musical Director
-
Under the discretion of the Wellington Music Centre Musical Director the hirer may request and be granted an additional hire period over the summer holidays for an additional set hire fee per instrument.
4. Insurance cover for the hired instrument
We request the Hirer:
-
To hold household contents insurance for cover of the hired instrument for damages or loss (to full replacement value).
-
Inform us if they cannot afford or hold household contents insurance of the instrument to full replacement value.
-
Where loss or damage occurs to the hired instrument, other than fair wear and tear, and some or all of the value of this loss or damage is less than the WMCCT insurance excess or is caused by an event that is not insurable, then the Hirer is responsible for repairing or replacing the Hired instrument.
-
What specific circumstances constitute ‘fair wear and tear’ is at the discretion of the Music Director and the student’s music tutor.
